In the words of the tourist office La Tzoumaz “offers ideal escapes for sport enthusiasts and families”. The village is small and friendly with a supermarket, swimming pool and sauna, multisports area, tennis court, 2 play grounds, various bars and restaurants, and in the winter months a small outdoor ice rink.

See La Tzoumaz from the webcam based at the télécabine.

If you require equipment during your stay, then we strongly recommend Perraudin Sports for both summer biking and winter snow activities. The shop is located just behind the church, on the edge of the village square.

La Tzoumaz runs its own Swiss Ski School and offers group and private lessons. The meeting point is by the télécabine and so is incredibly easy to get to in the mornings. The ski schools of Verbier are also within easy reach taking around 15 minutes, including lift time, depending on your ability.

It is difficult to recommend restaurants as we all have our varying likes and dislikes. On our last visit we enjoyed the Auberge La Tzoumaz for a special meal, while our meal at Les Trappeurs was delicious. During ski season we can be found at Chez Simon for a late lunch especially on those days that continuing to ski just feels a little too demanding… it is a holiday after all. In the summer months we have to admit to just sitting out on the balcony delighting in the peace and tranquillity while sampling the local wines and eating simple local produce.

Seasonal Activities

La Tzoumaz sits at the heart of the 4 Vallées region, which covers 410km of pistes. 55km of which are in the La Tzoumaz-Savoleyres area.

Snow boarding

“Some of the best extreme terrain in Switzerland and the world for that matter” (World Snowboard Guide).

La Tzoumaz boasts a fabulous 10km sledge run which is open to everyone, be it family groups or daredevil sledgers.
